 Fruitfulness

Led by Mr David Middleton

Monday 19th November 2007

9.30 am to 4.30 pm

As Christians we are called to produce good fruit. In the quiet of the day we will be guided to think about some of Jesus' words about fruitfulness and reflect on our own fruitfulness individually and as a community. In Luke 13:1-9 the gardener asks the master for one more year to tend the fruitless tree and give it special attention and lots of fertilizer, then he can come back and see if it bears fruit. This day is a day for lots of special attention and lots of fertilizer. To quote 'Nectar's' new slogan, 'You deserve it!'

David Middleton is, by profession, a Quantity Surveyor working in residential development. He is a Methodist Local Preacher and a member of the Leadership Team at Ely Methodist Church with particular responsibility for the spiritual life of the Church. For a number of years he was a member of the executive of the Methodist Retreat and Spirituality Network and organised the National Retreat at Launde Abbey. He has led a number of quiet days and retreats at Launde Abbey together with quiet days at Bishop Woodford House, and continues to work out his own spirituality in quietness and reflective prayer.

This quiet day will start with coffee at 9.30am and end after tea at about 4.30pm on Monday 19th November 2007. The total cost will be £17 per person including coffee, lunch and tea.
