[Ely Announce] John Eddy - AMENDMENT

It is with sadness that the death of John Eddy occurred in the early hours of this morning.   John had played a major role both in the life of this diocese and in the life of the county to which he had devoted a great deal of time and energy.  He was a councillor of Huntingdon District Council for 30 years and Cambridgeshire County Council for 25 years.  

He was Chairman of both councils and only completed his term of office as Chairman of Huntingdon DC this spring.

He was involved in a wide range of committees and was a longstanding member of the Bishop's Council.  To his wife, Belinda, and to his family, we send our love and sympathy at this sad time.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, 14th August in Somersham Church (further details if needed from Chris Barter).
