[Ely Announce] John Eddy

It is with sadness that the death of John Eddy occurred in the early hours of this morning.   John had played a major role both in the life of this diocese and in the life of the county to which he had devoted a great deal of time and energy.  He was a councillor of Huntingdon District Council for 30 years and Cambridgeshire County Council for 25 years.  He was mayor of Cambridge and retired as Chairman of Huntingdon DC this spring.  He was involved in a wide range of committees and was a longstanding member of the Bishop's Council.

At the present moment details of the funeral are not known.
