Film: Solomon and Sheba. Biblical epic, the story of Solomon, hero of the Israelites, his conflict
with the Egyptians and his relationship with the Queen of Sheba. 2.40pm BBC2  

The Moral Maze (5/7). Repeat. Michael Buerk chairs a debate in which panellists Melanie Phillips,
Martin Portillo, Clifford Longley and Claire Fox cross-examine expert witness on the moral issues
behind the week’s news. 10.15pm R4

Film: Wise Blood. The son of a hellfire revivalist preacher returns from army service to his home
town in the Bible Belt of America to set up “The Church of Truth without Jesus Christ”. 1am BBC2

The War on Britain’s Jews? Repeat. 4.25am Ch4

Bells on Sunday. From St Mary’s, Lamberhurst, in Kent. 5.43am R4

Something Understood. “Little Angels Here Below”. Judith French compared the possible nature of
angels and the ways of children. As “Angel” means messenger, maybe children are substitutes for the
messengers from God. 6.05am R4 

Aled Jones. Guest include addict-turned-activist Mark Johnson, who appears with the drugs worker,
who helped him to overcome his heroin addiction. 7am R2 

Sunday. This week’s religious and ethical headlines, with Edward Stourton. 7.10am R4

Sunday Worship. To mark the international musical Eisteddfod, a service from St Collen’s church, in
Llangollen, led by the Revd Andrew Sully. The preacher is Terry Waite. 8.10am R4

Heaven and Earth with Gloria Hunniford. Declan Curry debates the big religious stories of the week
and author Armistead Maupin talks about this Episcopalian beliefs. 10am BBC1  

Choral Evensong. Live from the Temple Church, London. 4pm R3

Songs of Praise. Looking at some unforgettable moments, with Aled Jones. 5.30pm BBC2

Sunday Half Hour. As Saint Swithin’s Day approaches, Fr Brian D’Arcy looks at how the weather has

Film: Bulletproof Monk. For the last six decades, a monk has been the protector of an ancient
Tibetan scroll with magical powers, but now must find a replacement. 10pm Ch4
