[Ely Announce] Appointment Announcement - The Reverend Professor David Thompson

The Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce the appointment, with immediate
effect, of the Reverend Professor David Thompson as Ecumenical Adviser
to the Bishop.

 

Professor Thompson is involved in ecumenical affairs, locally,
regionally, nationally and internationally e.g. World Council of
Churches, Churches Together in England (current Chair of the Theology
and Unity Group), Co-Chair Roman Catholic-United Reformed Church
Conversations in England and Wales, Cambridgeshire Ecumenical Council
(founder member and former Chair).  

 

Professor Thompson holds the title Emeritus Professor of Modern Church
History, University of Cambridge (retired 2009) and is a Minister of the
United Reformed Church, and Ecumenical Officer for the Eastern Synod.
