[Ely Announce] Advent Candle Trail

The leaflet 'Pray Ely 900' was given to all churches in the Resource Bag at the time of the visit by the Archbishop of Canterbury and is available on the website. Amongst the suggestions for creative prayer is an Advent Candle Trail. A candle is lit at an Advent service and is then passed from home to home (or school, organization, business, etc.) with an accompanying prayer. If you would like a new Ely 900 candle for Advent, for the trail or for use in church, it can be collected from the Diocesan Office or from Sue Wyatt (9 Luard Road, Cambridge, 01223 247451, sue.e.wyatt at btinternet.com). They will be available on a 'first come, first served' basis.

We light this Advent Candle as we prepare ourselves to welcome Jesus this Christmastime. He is the Light of the World.

 

Come Lord Jesus, fill our lives with your light and love and joy that we may share your life with others. We pray for this Parish, for all who live and work here, we pray for your presence amongst us and for your peace. We remember especially all who are in any kind of trouble, sickness or loneliness. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
