[Ely Announce] Ministry to Deaf People

Following recent discussion on the Ely List, the Bishops would like to give
an assurance that, following the resignation of the Revd Ros Hunt as
Chaplain to the Deaf, interim provision for ministry to deaf people in the
Diocese has been made.

The Revd Clive Hillman kindly ministers to the Deaf Community on Cambridge,
and an interpreter from the Diocese of St Edmundsbury interprets the morning
service at Soham on a monthly basis.   The Senior Staff are actively looking
at what arrangements can be made in the longer term.

We are particularly grateful to the Revd Ros Hunt, who exercised a stalwart
and warmly appreciated ministry among the deaf community for a number of
years, and wish her well in her postgraduate studies.
