On Sunday 2nd November the 150th anniversary of the Universities Mission
to Central Africa (UMCA) will be celebrated in Cambridge. At 4 pm there
will be a seminar on 'Central Africa Then and Now' in the Michaelhouse
Centre, Trinity Street, with contributions from (amongst others) the Rt
Revd Valentino Mokiwa, Archbishop of Tanzania, and Bishop Michael Doe,
General Secretary of USPG: Anglicans in World Mission (into which UMCA
was incorporated in 1965). At 6.30 pm there will be a celebratory
service of Evensong in Great St Mary's, the University Church, King's
Parade, at which the Archbishop will preach. All are welcome at both
events.

The foundation of UMCA was inspired by lectures given at both Oxford and
Cambridge by David Livingstone.
