Bells on Sunday. From St Leonard's Church in Hythe, Kent. 5.43am R4

Something Understood. The American writer Dmae Roberts reflects on the allure of secret places and
the tension that exists between the secret and the private. 6.05am R4

Aled Jones Says Good Morning Sunday. Guests include Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year nominee Martin
Simpson and former Jain monk and editor of Resurgence magazine Satish Kumar. 7am R2

Sunday. Religious and ethical headlines, presented by Roger Bolton. 7.10am R4

Sunday Worship. A service from Derby Cathedral for the Feast of the Baptism of Christ, led by Canon
Nicholas Henshall with Bishop Humphrey Southern. 8.10am R4

The Big Questions. Nicky Campbell and Sonia Deol present moral and religious debate from the
Samworth Enterprise Academy in Leicester, featuring guest panellist Toyah Willcox. 10am BBC1

Choral Evensong. Live from Derby Cathedral. 4pm R3

Songs of Praise. Sally Magnusson travels to Orkney and visits the 12th century St Magnus Cathedral,
described by her late father Magnus Magnusson as the Viking's finest legacy. 5.10pm BBC1

Time Team (2/3). "Street of the Dead: Binchester, County Durham". A rare find is uncovered as the
team embark on a dig to unearth the remains of a civilian settlement beside a huge Roman fort. Some
of the remains are found on Binchester Hall Farm which is a holding of the Church Commissioners.

Sunday Half Hour. Brian D'Arcy tells the story of religious rebel George Fox who broke with
Christian traditions to found the Religious Society of Friends (the Quakers). The programme features
music that reflects Quaker spirituality. 8.30pm R2

The Vicar of Dibley. It's local election time and David is confident of victory. 9.40pm BBC1

culture. Coming to maturity as the Roman Empire fell apart, he straddled two worlds. In the first of
this week's programmes, Maria Wyke discusses Augustine's strikingly modern ideas about the teaching
of classics to children. 11pm R3

was passing and Christian culture was being formed. Professor Gillian Clark explores what Augustine
