Monday
 From LITTLE GIDDING to HEMINGFORD GREY: about 35 miles

by Alconbury Weston, Godmanchester and National Cycle Route 51,
returning by Houghton Mill, Abbots Ripton, and Monks Wood.
Picnic by church and river followed by short music recital and tea in  
garden.

Tuesday
 From LITTLE GIDDING TO LAXTON: about 40 miles

by Fotheringhay and King’s Cliffe, returning by Southwick and Tansor.
Visit to 80 year old land-based Catholic community;
the site of the household of William Law; Polebrook War Memorial.

Wednesday
First choice: from KIMBOLTON to TURVEY ABBEY and OLNEY: about 45 miles

by Pertenhall, Riseley and Felmersham to Turvey,
returning from Olney by Harrold, Sharnbrook and Melchbourne.
Picnic at Benedictine community of monks and nuns;
visit to home of William Cowper and John Newton, poets and hymn-writers.

Wednesday
Second choice: from LITTLE GIDDING to HOLME FEN: about 20 miles

by Hamerton, Coppingford, Conington, Holme village, Holme Fen,
returning by Sawtry and Steeple Gidding.
Visit site of planned Great Fen; 2 beautiful medieval redundant  
churches.

Thursday
 From LITTLE GIDDING to BUCKDEN TOWERS: about 35 miles

by Alconbury, Huntingdon and Brampton,
returning by Grafham Water, Brampton Wood, Spaldwick and Buckworth.
Visit to former Bishop’s Palace, now a Catholic community and  
conference centre.
Brampton Wood Nature Reserve, Grafham Water Trail.

Friday
 From LITTLE GIDDING to HELPSTON: about 40 miles

by Stilton, Haddon, Ferry Meadows, returning by Castor and Bullock Road.
Visit to home of John Clare, peasant poet, using Green Wheel Cycle  
Route.

Saturday
 From LITTLE GIDDING to OUNDLE and WADENHOE: about 30 miles

by Barnwell and Ashton, returning by Clopton and Leighton Bromswold.
Visit to John Piper windows; riverside village; George Herbert’s church.

Daily start times: from Kimbolton 9.30am,
from Little Gidding 10.30am
