The Bishop of Ely announces that the Revd Canon Les Oglesby will be
retiring from the post of Director of Ministry on 31st August, 2012.
Les has held this office since February 2012, although he has served in
the Diocese of Ely since May 2001, first as Adult Education Officer (and
Coordinator of the Ministerial and Adult Learning team) and from 2003 as
Director of Ministerial and Adult Learning. During this time he
contributed to the diocesan policy document 'All Good Gifts', to the
introduction and development of the framework of Annual Review for
licensed clergy. His work has been central to the design and delivery of
the Authorised Lay Ministry programme, and to the development of Initial
Ministerial Education of curates, and regional and diocesan programmes
for Continuing Ministerial Development. He has provided support for the
link with the North Elbean Church, and the initial and continuing
education for Licensed Lay Ministers. Since February 2012 he has in
addition been providing supervisory support for the Diocese's promotion
of Education for Discipleship, Vocations, Ordinands, Self-supporting
Ministers, Retired Clergy and resources in relation to Spirituality,
Healing and Worship.

We wish Les and his wife, Dorothy, a long and happy retirement in Sandy.
