[Ely Announce] The Reverend David Kettle

It is with great sadness that we announce that the Reverend David Kettle
died at home last Friday (11th March) after having been ill with cancer
for some time. His funeral, with Holy Communion, will be held at Holy
Trinity Church, Bottisham on Thursday 17th March at 1pm. Bishop David
will preside, and clergy are invited to robe (white stoles).

 

David (63) served as NSM Curate in the Anglesey Group, after ministry in
the dioceses of Bristol and St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, and in New
Zealand. His main work for many years was studying and writing on the
Gospel and our Culture, and he co-ordinated the network of that name
(http://www.gospel-culture.org.uk/). He was able to complete his magnum
opus Western Culture in Gospel Context shortly before his death, and it
is now in press. (See below for cover commendations.)


David is survived by his wife Anne, and their children Shelagh, John,
Aidan and James, and also by his mother Irene and brother Michael.
