[Ely Announce] FAO Clergy in the Diocese of Ely: HMRC Error with Tax Codes

  **HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has recently issued tax codes to most 
stipendiary clergy which have included the full HLC allowance paid in 
the last tax year. This was incorrect and Church House are working with 
HMRC to correct this problem. The codes are not being used to calculate 
the tax with the January stipend payments.

Apparently around 7000 clergy are affected -- they will receive an 
amended statement in due course.
