[Ely Announce] Mr John Abbott

It is with great sadness that we announce that Mr Reginald John Abbott
died this morning at 8.30am after a short illness.

 

John has been very much involved in the life of the diocese for a number
of years having been the Lay Chair of the Fordham and Quy  deanery,
Chair of various committees such as School's Executive, the Schools
Organisation and Resources Group, Board of Patronage.  He was also a
member of the Board of Education, the Board of Finance and the
Investments Committee.  John also served for a number of years as a
District Councillor and had been Chairman of the District Council.

 

John is survived by his wife Judith and the two children, Helen and
Michael and grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Thomas and Freddie.
