[Ely Announce] Website award

I am delighted to report that the Diocese of Ely has received a commendation
for the high standard of its website design and content at the national
Andrew Cross Awards at Swanwick, Derbyshire.  The website and interactive
diary www.ely.anglican.org, was among the regional sites short listed at the
prestigious national church media awards this week.

This commendation is a tribute to those who have established its unique
design and content and to the diocesan staff who keep it up-to-date. The new
website was created by Popcorn Webdesign, a professional design and media
consultancy based in Stansted, Essex, in collaboration with the diocesan
communications team. It was launched by the Bishop last November,

Of the 65 awards presented to media departments, radio stations, national
newspapers, production companies and other media, three went to Anglican
dioceses – Ely, Southwell, and Lichfield.

This year’s annual Andrew Cross Awards, run by the Churches Media Council,
are for local and regional religious broadcasting, religious video
production, website design, and national and regional religious press.
