[Ely Announce] Prayers for the death of the Pope

Will Adam, Diocesan Ecumenical Officer, has suggested a couple of prayers
for the death of the Pope:

A prayer adapted from the Order of Christian Funerals of the Roman Catholic
Church

O God
from whom the just receive an unfailing reward,
grant that your servant Pope John Paul,
whom you made vicar of Peter and shepherd of your Church,
may rejoice for ever in the vision of your glory,
for he was a faithful steward here on earth
of the mysteries of your forgiveness and grace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Lord God, you are attentive to the voice of our pleading.
We pray for Michael, Bishop of East Anglia and for all the clergy and people
of his diocese.
Let them find in your Son comfort in sadness,
certainty in doubt and courage to face the days to come.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
