Flower Festival 2008 - 'Love thy Neighbour'

 

Friday 6 - Sunday 8 June

The great social event of the year, the annual Flower Festval and Fete, will take place on the second weekend of June. The church will be decorated by local people and groups with floral arrangements on the theme 'Love thy Neighbour', which can be viewed throughout the weekend.

Flower Festival Programme
Saturday 7th June
10am – 5pm Church open to view flowers. Organ and piano music at times over the weekend.
10am – 5.30pm

Infant School & playground:
• Craft stalls, books, plants & more
• LVC mini-enterprise stalls
• Free children’s games in playground
• Ferrari ‘Guess-the-Mileage’ – Win a Ride!


Restaurant at school open for coffee, lunch and tea 10am – 4.30pm

11am – 3pm

Field Events (School field):
• Bouncy castle, miniature-train rides
• 11.30 – Pet Dog Show
• 12.30-5.15 Five-a-Side football tournament
• Refreshments from BBQ, beer tent & restaurant…
• 12-1pm & 2-3pm Linton Jazz

3pm Teddy-Bear jumps from church tower
10am – 5pm Photographic exhibition in the Pavilion, presented by Linton Camera Club
5.30-6.30pm Quiet Time in church
7.30pm ‘Friends and Neighbours’ - a lively entertainment presented in the church by Margaret Clark, Jeanne Boutal-Chapman and friends
Sunday 8th June
9.45am Parish Eucharist
11.00am – 5pm Church open to view flowers
11.30am – 4.30pm Restaurant open for snacks, lunches and teas
1.30pm onwards Guided tours up the church tower
3pm LVC Pop Choir & Ladies Harmony Choir perform in the church
4pm Duck Race on the Granta by the church
6pm Ecumenical Festival Service in the church
