The top menu presents just a small part of all the goes on at St John's; screen space limits what we could put up there. Other activities that take place at St John's are listed below. In some cases these activities have their own web pages giving more detailed information. Where no contact details are provided, please contact the parish office for more information. And for the occasional activities, please watch the church Events and News feeds for information.
- Toddle Along, combining a short service for toddlers and their carers in the church followed by games and refreshments in the Wilkinson Room. This is held every Monday in term time between 10–11.30 am.
- Knitting group, meeting every Wednesday at 2pm in the Wilkinson Room. Members knit items that are then sent to help those in need abroad via charities. Please contact Lois Strangeways (tel 01223 247001) for more information.
- Music band, which plays for Family services and other occasions. Please contact Martin Dove by email ( ) for more information.
- Monthly parish walks, usually on the second Saturday of the month. The walks are either what we call short walks of about 2 miles or longer walks of about 5 miles, and are usually within 10 miles of Cambridge. Please contact David Waterhouse (tel 01223 510257) for more information.
- Men's breakfast, held monthly on a Sunday morning (often the second Sunday, 8.30–9.40 am). The primary purpose will be to get to know each other in a relaxed environment. We will also be treated to a short story that offers a Christian perspective on the ups and downs of life and provokes thought and action. Please contact Peter Heslam for more information (tel 722822, email ), and watch the church Events news feeds for details on forthcoming breakfasts.
- Monthly Traidcraft stall, which offers a wide selection of fair-trade products, from chocolate and sweets to groceries and greetings cards, and also items to order. The stall runs on the first Sunday of the month and at events such as the annual fete, and is very well supported by the congregation.
- Companions tea party, an afternoon meeting held every two months, mixing a social opportunity with something to think about. Please contact June Hunstman (tel 01223 501721) for more information.
- Bible study and house groups. A number of groups operate, with different styles and frequency of meetings.
- Visiting Companions, who visit the housebound, sick, or those just needing a bit of company now and again.
- Services of worship and Holy Communion taken to local nursing homes
- Mum's and Toddler's group
- Brownies and Guides
- Annual summer fete, which is a nice social time for the parish.
- Special children's activities for Advent and Good Friday.
