Prayer

When Jesus' disciples asked him, 'Lord, teach us to pray', Jesus gave them what we now call the Lord's Prayer. Within this most special of prayers we not only find that we can address God as our Father, but we also find most of those things for which we would want to pray to God:

Why not try praying this prayer now? Or better still, why not try memorising it?

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed by thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

It can be hard sometimes, especially in a crisis, to find the 'right' words for prayer. But God hears our prayers even if we can find no words to say.

If you would like a particular sitution to be remembered in prayer by our ministry team you can email prayer requests to the Vicar,  . We will offer prayers at our regular Midday Prayer service each weekday, which takes place at 12.00 noon in Church. You are very welcome to join us. If you would like to join us in this regular discipline of prayer, but are unable to do so in person, please consider doing so using the links on the Daily Prayer page: HERE.

We come together in church to worship God, to hear His word and to share the Good news of Jesus,
receiving forgiveness and renewal through His death and resurrection.

We are sent out from church to live as Christian disciples, showing love to others
and living out our faith in all we think, say and do.
