June 19 Tapestry Choir
Tapestry is a mixed voice a-cappella chamber choir of twelve singers based in Cambridgeshire. Our name comes from the interweaving of voices to form a colourful whole, a "Tapestry" of sound created by vocal threads.
June 26 Kenderdine Ensemble, Pembroke College, Cambridge
The ensemble is a chamber group of singers and players who perform baroque classics. They have recently recorded J.S. Bach's cantata 'Ich habe genug' and Handel's Ode on the Birthday of
Queen Anne.
July 17 David Humphreys - Organ Recital
David is the Assistant Director of Music & Arts Coordinator at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, where he also directs the Cathedral's ladies choir. He has accompanied and directed the cathedral choirs live on BBC Radio 3 and on two European tours, and played for the Queen at the 2009 Office for the Royal Maundy.
July 24 Granta Chorale Songs of the Countryside
By Britten, Vaughan Williams and Alan Bullard. Including Time Becomes a Song four choral settings of John Clares poems by Janet Wheeler. Granta Chorale was formed in 2007 and is a chamber choir of about 24 singers based around East Anglia.
September 3 Jazz with Ally and Sam
Back again by popular request. Another evening of music and song!
Rev Ally Barrett is Vicar of Buckden St Marys and her husband, Sam, plays the organ and piano. A wonderful husband and wife act!
September 25 Buckden Festival Strings
A new chamber orchestra conducted by local musician Ian Bradley
A musical journey from original music of the 17th century to some modern music inspired by the early masters….with stops along the way to enjoy the scenery!
All concerts start at 7.30pm.
