Scottish air hostess Lana Inglis, a former alcoholic, spends a month with one of Ethiopia’s most fiercely independent tribes, the Afar, whose strict Muslim culture forbids alcohol. Anyone found drinking is immediately ostracised and beaten. Although Lana hasn’t touched a drop for over a year, she is still troubled by her past and hopes that by living with the nomadic cattle and camel herders, she can finally lay the memories of her addiction to rest. 9pm BBC2
