Bishop's Blog

18th April 2009

The Bishop of Huntingdon, Dr David Thomson, has joined the ranks of the small but growing number of blogging bishops. He is now one of six Anglican bishops who regularly communicate their faith and personal experiences with the wider public through a shared on-line journal.

He caught the blogging bug early this year and the site has already had around 5,000 hits.

“It’s great to have this new way of being in touch with so many people, and without all the formality that my role often brings”, said Bishop David. “I’m posting stories about things that interest me – like art and history; as well as current affairs that seem important – such as the religion verses atheism debate or the troubles in Gaza. I hope lots of people will find it interesting and useful, whether they are churchgoers or not.”

The Bishop’s blog also contains entries about useful resources for local churches and Christians, taking photographs, and the English writer Terry Pratchett, best known for his popular and long-running Discworld series of comic fantasy novels.
