Bishop Isaac visits Melbourn and Meldreth

Palm Sunday, 5th April, saw the people of Meldreth and Melbourn join together to walk from the village hall, Meldreth to Holy Trinity Church for their Palm Sunday Service. Villagers watched from the pavement and were given Palm Crosses as the group passed as were passing motorists!
They were joined by Noah the donkey and a very special visitor Bishop Isaac and his wife Anne from the diocese of Mount Kenya Central in Africa. The parishes have a link with the diocese, Link Murang’a, and raise money for various projects in Africa. A team visited Africa recently to help build a water tower.
Bishop Isaac and Anne have already visited Meldreth and Melbourn Primary schools and have an exciting number of events planned whilst they are in England. They have been round Great St Mary’s with Canon Dr John Binns and visited Pembroke College with Revd Dr James Gardom. They also visited the cathedral on Maundy Thursday.
