Licensed Lay Ministry Training
Nine new LLMs joined our Diocesan on Saturday 31 October 2009 at a service in Ely Cathedral led by the Bishop of Huntingdon, Dr David Thomson.
At the special Licensing Service the candidates made their declaration of faith, took their oath of obedience to the Bishop and received authority for their ministry. Each Licensed Lay Minister (LLM) is assigned to a parish to lead worship, preach, teach and assist with pastoral and evangelistic work.
The new minsters are Tony Harper who will serve in the Ely Team Ministry, Andrew Deller in Fulbourn, Great Wilbraham, Little Wilbraham and Six Mile Bottom, Frances Leadon in Burwell and Reach, Ruth Terrell in the Papworth Team Ministry, Shirley Holder in Great St Mary's Cambridge, Helen Randall in Soham and Wicken, Mary Sutton in Sutton and Witcham with Mepal, John Marshall in Littleport and John Dickinson in the Ely Team Ministry.
John Marshall, Helen Randall, Mary Sutton and Ruth Terrell were admitted and licensed, Frances Leadon was admitted and given Permission to Officiate, Tony Harper, Andrew Deller, Shirley Holder and John Dickinson were all LLM s in other dioceses so admitted to our Diocese at the service.
