Review of Ministry
All stipendiary clergy and Diocesan Officers undergo an annual Review of Ministry which aims to strengthen mission and ministry, to offer an expression of pastoral care and to identify areas for development.
This works on a two year cycle with “year A” reviews being carried out by the Bishop or one of his senior staff and “year B” reviews being completed by one of several reviewers, both clergy and lay, appointed by the Bishop to carry out reviews on his behalf.
The scheme is overseen and administered by Les Oglesby (Director for Ministerial and Adult Learning) and by Dr Bridget Nichols (the Bishop’s Chaplain).
The minister or officer being reviewed fills out Review of Ministry Forms A and B and sends them to the reviewer at least ten days before they are due to meet. The forms are sent to the minister but can also be downloaded below.
At the end of the meeting a summary of objectives for parish and/or personal development is completed as well as an optional form to send to the Bishop. From 2011 ministers will be asked to comment on what progress they have made with the objectives set in the previous year’s review.
